THE NATIONAL ARCHIVES CHILDREN'S BOOK
Creative concept work produced for clients based at The National Archives; depicting a children’s e-activity book design, on the topic of ‘Significant People In British History’. This book is designed for children between the ages of 5-7 years old, who are following the Key Stage One History National Curriculum. The e-activity book design comprises of a starter, main and plenary/extension activity; as well as secondary word search puzzles, which are to be used on a variety of learning media e.g. tablets or mobile phones.
A papercutting technique was used to create the imagery and title lettering, which was then scanned and digitally refined and worked upon further to produce the final page designs of the e-activity book. The key design theme within this work is based upon a museum/gallery display, using oval frames, which conveys the importance of the significant people in British history. Colours used represent the British subject and evoke a sense of authenticity.
